Programs

The core of Teacher Effectiveness is helping teachers to help our students. Recognition as well as fair and focused feedback has been designed to support teachers in growing professionally and increasing their abilities in the classroom to provide students each day with the meaningful interactions they need to achieve at high levels. In association with the initiative, we have developed specific programs that help put into practice the TEI objective of continuous improvement for all teachers in the district.

Teacher Effectiveness Measure (TEM)

Developed with direct and guiding input from teachers in Memphis, the Teacher Effectiveness Measure (TEM) is a fair and standardized tool for teacher evaluation that makes possible targeted, constructive feedback for individual improvement. TEM provides concrete data that also serves as a basis for much of the recognition and reward that teachers have earned already or will be working toward in the months and years to come.

Teacher Ambassador Program

The Teacher Ambassador Program provides a mentorship model, in which teachers who have grown as professionals through TEI can mentor newer, less-experienced teachers, as they embark on a process of improvement towards these vital principles of classroom effectiveness.
