I teach. I am among the best in my field... an Irreplaceable.

What is your motto?

Be the best you can be every day.

What one thing you would most want your students to remember about you?

That I believed in every one of my students and was their biggest cheerleader!

Complete this sentence: My favorite part of the school day is…

Greeting my students every morning at my door. This gives me an opportunity to connect with each student and let them know I am glad they are at school before they even enter the classroom.

How do you achieve (such amazing!) results in the classroom?

I am passionate about empowering my students. I truly believe all children can be successful. In order to empower my students, I work hard to build each child's self-esteem. I feel that if I help a child learn to believe in themselves that I have been successful. In addition, providing clear instruction, clear expectations and boundaries, and consistently emplimenting consequences and rewards have been key components in achieving the results that I have seen over the years in my classroom.

What was your most satisfying teaching moment?

Early in my teaching career, I had the pleasure of teaching a second grade class. I had a student in this class that did not believe in herself which interferred with her trying most things. I believed in this student and was certain of her ability to be successful. I worked hard that year to encourage her to believe in herself on a daily basis. With great and constant encouragement she experienced many successes that year. I had the pleasure of seeing her learn to believe in herself the way that I believed in her. She was an amazing student and I will never forget her. I feel lucky to have had that opportunity to be her teacher!
