Calendar Math:) It's the one time that we are all together doing the same thing. The children get so excited that they know how to do the procedures. When I change the activities for a new month I like to see their faces as they try to use what they know to figure out the new concepts.

What words or phrases do you most overuse in the classroom?

" What ever happens at the top, happens at the bottom!" - in reference to fractions!

What is the coolest thing about living in Memphis?

I love living in Memphis because there are so many things to do each day. Some of my favorites are Grizzlies games and Levitt Shell Concerts.

Share your favorite song, book, meal and/or movie.

My favorite song is Everlong by the Foo Fighters. The Bell Jar is my favorite book. I love to eat at Huey's and my favorite movie is Point Break.

What inspired your decision to teach?

I loved my first grade teacher. She was a wonderful caring woman who always made you feel like the most important person in the room. I loved going to her class everyday to see what new things she had for me to learn. She inspired me to teach like each child was the most important in the room and that collectively they mean the world!
