Putting Vision Into Action

It’s in the best interest of the entire community that Memphis City Schools innovate how it prepares our young people for tomorrow's economy. The academic challenges are considerable, and no single group or organization can close the achievement gaps alone. Positive change will require that proverbial 'village'; but, first, the public must have the will to change. The community must demand equal access to excellent teaching for all children in order for all children to achieve apace.

The community partners listed here have already demonstrated their commitment to driving change for MCS students. We rely on them to support our aggressive reform agenda, and also to work in unison with administration, educators, and policy-makers to put those reforms into practice. Our partners have contributed in diverse and dramatic ways—providing time, expertise, advocacy, best practices, and collaborative leadership. This work can not be done without collective effort.
